Where is the smart money going in property today? The Platinum Property Meet

This is just a brief comment on the Platinum Property Meet last night in Brighton. Although I've been a property investor for 5 years, I still have plenty to learn. Hearing Steve Bolton speak on property investment strategies is always worthwhile.

One of my jottings from the evening was the notion of "competitive advantage". This is from a book by Michael Porter, and refers to the business advantage created when there are barriers to entry into a particular market. Those that are willing and able to find solutions to these barriers are in a position to create above average profits.

It used to be called the property game, and thankfully thats a term that has died a death following the fall out from the credit crunch. Investing in property is a business, and should be approached as such. The barriers to entry into the property business have been launched into the stratosphere over the last 2 years.

The good news is that this means there are great rewards for those that can learn from the best of the best, and apply thoroughly professional strategies in their property investment business.
