Business without Microsoft

Here's a story about a business that got caught out by inadvertently having a few unlicensed copies of Microsoft software on some of their machines. To ensure that every copy of software is either fully licensed or else deleted from the hard disk is not an easy task for businesses of any size.

Despite being a cautionary tale, the story is an encouraging one. Ernie Ball, the world renowned manufacturer of guitar strings has now moved over to Open Source with a Red Hat version of Linux. Their experience is that the difficulties of moving from Microsoft are exaggerated. And the cost savings are real.
